I know, I know here we go again with the skin problems. It’s as annoying for you to read as it is to have to deal with it. No, that’s a lie. It’s horrendous and it would be so much easier to just read about. I’ve recently been getting these little white bumps all over my face that I found out after a little research is called Milia or baby acne.
There are a lot of different ways that you can develop baby acne. My main culprit would be the top one listed.
- Heavy Cosmetics
- Chemical resurfacing
- Long term steroid cream use
- Side effect of not drinking enough water
- Long term sun damage
The most common places for them to appear are on the face including the forehead, cheeks, and chin. But they can also appear anywhere on the body. They aren’t considered acne so they can’t be treated the same way with acne medication. They also can go away after a period of time. But, that can take up to a few weeks to a month or longer.
There are ways that can be effective in getting rid of these unsightly bumps. I myself have tried one home remedy that seems to keep them at bay if I use it consistently. I’ve included a pictures below.
I have also done just a baking soda mask and it does kind of a chemical peel that also gets rid of the Milia. If you do go this route. Make sure you have a product that gets rid of the dead skin that is sure to occur I would suggest this product. I’ve also started using Retin-A again.
Below are some other ways that you can get rid of that pesky Milia.
- Use of Retin-A
- Chemical peels
- Microderm abrasion
- Drink lots of water
There are no longer term health affects. It’s just aesthetically unappealing. So your self-esteem could be kind of low during the outbreak. Trust me I know. I didn’t have any problems with acne until I became and adult. It’s not something I thought I would have to worry about. But I’m learning.
Do you have a problem is milia? What did you do to get rid of it? Also I am not a dermatologist. So I if you have the disposable income. I would talk with them about ways to help. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
