If you search on YouTube you’ll see hundreds of videos showing you how to lighten dark hair. I watched a lot of them and most of them wanted to you use a developer or the Oops hair color remover. I didn’t use any of these two products and achieve this light of hair after two applications.

This is after one treatment done last week. You can't really tell. Unless I'm in direct sunlight. I didn't use the foil that time either.

I didn’t make exact measurements of the amount I used from each product. All the things that I used can be found at your home. It was a total of five products. I also used a plastic bowl and spoon. I don’t recommend using any type of metal products.

All the products I used.

All the products I used.

  • Clarifying shampoo, conditioner, honey, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, aluminum foil

I’m also not a cosmologist. So go forward at your own risk, if you do try this. I didn’t make those little foil piece that they use at the salon. I leaned over my bathtub after I covered my entire head in the mixture, took the aluminum roll and wrapped it around my head one and a half times and formed it to my head. I then tied it a plastic bag tightly around that. Then my night bonnet and then a night scarf that I tied around the edges to keep all the heat and product contained.

I did this before I went to bed around 11 pm and kept it on until about 11 am the next day. If you have a sensitive scalp you may not be able to keep this on your hair for this long. But, I didn’t have any burning sensations or anything the whole time it was on my head. I washed it out with trader joe’s tea tree conditioner when I got ready and added some oil and deep conditioner that I kept on for about two hours I sat under a hooded dryer for 30 mins of that time. Overkill? Maybe. But, I didn’t think so after having such drying products on my head for hours even though there were some conditioning products included.
